You may have heard of the 75 Hard Challenge that went viral on TikTok in 2022 – and boy, is this 75-day commitment an intense regimen. But have you heard of the closely related 75 Soft Challenge?

Below, we will give you a rundown of what these challenges are and how they may or may not benefit you.

75 Hard Challenge Rules

The 75 Hard Challenge is considered “hard” for a reason. It requires a serious commitment to go 75 days without breaking any of the challenge requirements, and according to the rules, if you miss a day, you start back at day zero.

For 75 days:

  • Stick to (any) diet
  • Drink 1 gallon of water per day
  • ZERO alcohol, ZERO cheat meals
  • 1 x 45-minute indoor workout per day
  • 1 x 45-minute outdoor workout per day (rain or shine)
  • Read 10-pages of inspirational non-fiction per day
  • Take a daily progress photo

75 Soft Challenge Rules

The 75 Soft Challenge is a modification of 75 Hard that is generally much more manageable to maintain.

For 75 days:

  • Eat well in general
  • Drink 1 gallon of water per day
  • Only drink alcohol on special occasions
  • 1 x 45-minute workout per day, including one active recovery day per week
  • Read 10-pages of any book per day
